Ani Arnold

MBACP; Cert HE; Prof. Dip; BSc

I am a fully qualified person-centred counsellor based at Wellspring Complementary Health Centre.  I have a practice in Stocksbridge and I also work one day a week at Barnsely Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Service (BSARCS).  I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I follow their guidelines for ethical practice.

I see that every person is individual and unique, and I believe this is very important to take into consideration when it comes to counselling.  What makes us different makes us special and we should never be afraid to be who we are.

In a counselling session I will listen to you and work with you, giving you the opportunity to discuss your problems and issues and promote your growth as a human being.  I will give you a non judgemental understanding and provide a secure environment where you can feel safe enough to talk things through and start to heal.

Pritiva Attiken

BSc (Hons) Psych; Dip Therapeutic Counselling; Gamcare approved counsellor; LINK approved adoption and attachment focused therapist; MBACP accred

Therapeutic Counselling

My practice involves broadening the range of healthy responses that an individual can give to the issues s/he experiences.  The brain and body comprise profound systems of protective mechanisms, learned since conception.  Sadly, a lot of these - while necessary in helping us survive our early years - are often unhelfpful and self-limiting in adulthood.  My current area of interest is in spoken techniques of meditation, mindfulness and relaxation.  I am an approved adoption and attachment focused therapist with Barnardo's LINK services.  I also work with biological parents who want to deepen their understanding of their child's trauma and loss, be it through the difficulties of separation, divorce, bereavement or illness.

I have been in practice for 10 years.  I hold enhanced DBS checks; my practice is fully insured; and I am GDPR compliant.

Robert Baker

Dip HE Therapeutic Counselling; GamCare approved; CRUSE trained; BACP regd.

Therapeutic Counselling

I am involved in counselling because I feel passionate about making a positive difference for people, believing that counselling can offer real hope when addressing problems that affect people.  I offer a non-judgemental approach when working with you and consider myself to be down to earth in my practice, believing that trust and understanding within the counselling relationship is the foundation for achieving positive change for you.

I am particularly interested in helping people who want to reach out when experiencing struggles in relationships and the work-place.  Together we can focus on coping skills and self-preservation leading to greater control in your life.  Confidence can then flourish.

I offer counselling for adults and older adults.

 Massage Therapies

I am Thai and have lived and worked in Sheffield for ten years. I trained at the famous Watpo Thai Traditional Massage School in Bangkok and gained my qualifications in Thai Massage and Thai Reflexology in 2004.   I am also qualified as a Swedish and Aromatherapy Massage therapist.   I began working as a Thai Massage therapist at Physiotherapy Sheffield and have now joined Wellspring Complementary Health Centre.

Thai Massage is a unique and powerful therapy combining acupressure, gentle stretching and applied yoga. The benefits are improved circulation; relief from aches and pains; improved mood, and greater physical flexibility enabling the body to heal itself and restore harmony and well being.  It is ideal for anyone regardless of age, state of health or level of flexibility.  I use a combination of Traditional Thai and Western massage techniques depending on clients' wishes and needs.

Catherine Speddings

BsC Counselling and Psychotherapy; MBACP reg; BA Nursing Studies

Counselling; Psychotherapy

I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor with a background of 25 years experience in nursing and midwifery.  My approach is Humanistic and Integrative, meaning that whilst my work is based on Humanistic principles I also integrate theories from other approaches, tailoring how I work with each client to suit them.  In addition to working in private practice, I have experience of working as a therapist within a GP setting and in a university counselling service, working with clients with issues such as stress management, anxiety, depression, bereavement, poor self-esteem and self-confidence, and abuse.

I believe that therapy can aid healing by providing a therapeutic relationship which is non-judgemental, authentic and based on trust.  I offer a safe space where I work with individuals on a short or long term basis to help them explore their feelings and gain a greater understanding about issues they may be facing.

I have an enhanced DBS certificate, am in regular supervision and abide by the ethical framework of the BACP and Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute.

Deborah Taylor

MNCS accred; Dip Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy; BA(Hons) Nursing Studies

Counselling & Psychotherapy

I am a qualified Integrative counsellor and psychotherapist and accredited member of the National Counselling Society (NCS).

Although predominantly person centred in approach, I value difference and individuality and therefore may draw on a number of approaches to best fit the person or the presenting issue.  I strive to create conditions of trust, safety and honesty and a collaborative working relationship enabling clients to establish their goals.

I believe in an individual's potential and drive for positive change and in their own vast resources.  I support clients to feel empowered and begin to direct the change they seek.

Counselling can feel a big step and feel challenging but it can also help to enhance self-awareness, self-understanding and begin to create the possibility for different choices, or simply self-acceptance.  Client feedback and goals always guide the pace and direction of the work.

Alongside private practice I also currently work in a voluntary setting and have experience in university and college counselling services where collectively, issues have included bereavement, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, confidence and trust issues, anxiety, trauma and depression.

I adhere to the ethical guidelines of both NCS and BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and attend regular supervision and CPD.

Jill Wales

MBACP accred; DipHE Counselling; Cert Drug & Alcohol Counselling; BA (Hons)

I am an accredited Member of the BACP  and have worked as a professional counsellor for over 12 years now.  My experience is in working with anxiety, panic, OCD, depression, stress, anger, relationship problems, substance misuse, trauma, shame, domestic abuse, childhood abuse, gambling, suicide, self-harm, bereavement and other difficulties in life.

When we are struggling we all need someone to be there; to meet us with acceptance, understanding, warmth and compassion.  In life we will all encounter difficulties and losses at various times, and it is at these times that counselling can really make a difference in how we feel.

A central part of counselling is around building a relationship of trust; without the fear of being shamed, judged or rejected.  Through counselling I believe we can expand our awareness of our selves and our defensive parts, where we can develop new ways of responding to these parts.  We can also discover what our true needs are and how to go about meeting these in order to improve both how we see ourselves and our relationships with others.

I work either in the short or longer term with both individuals and couples, depending on their particular needs.
